GETTING STARTED STEPS

Step One: Become Informed ( Raise Awareness):

  1. Review the websites that identify crime incidences as a starting point to identify the problems in your area. Our home page identifies three links to use to discover our ever increasing unsafe neighborhoods.

  2. Stay abreast of the community news of crime and happenings in your area. Our home page identifies one link you may use to find the latest in local news and crime.

  3. Take a good look at the area you live. Identify things that may lead to crime such as loitering or vacant buildings, or anything that simply seems out of place and not conducive for a safe and clean neighborhood.

  4. Review the resources offered through Greenville County, law enforcement, and our municipalities. Each has its own website and each website offers a wide range of services that will help you keep safe. Even if you live outside municipalities, please review their city and police department websites for valuable information.

  5. Review often, this website and its multiple links that will guide you to resources available for you and your neighborhood. We will be posting frequent updates.

  6. Read through the manual on the home page from the National Neighborhood Watch Program.

  7. Stay abreast politically, and make your voice heard at County Council. Regardless of political party affiliation, or no political affiliation, you have a vested interest in holding our elected officials accountable. The Crime rises or falls by the actions of the council on how they spend our tax dollars. Our quality of life is in the hands of Greenville County Council.

  8. Finally, please let us know if you find a greatly beneficial resource that is aligned with our mission related to keep Greenville residents safe. If it is a resource that isn't on our website or not sufficiently promoted, let us know. Also, please inform us of any inaccuracies we may inadvertently post or non-operative links.
